How do you justify
The fallout of war ?
The deaths and the injuries
The desolation, the gore
Can it be balanced by victory
The medals and gain . .
Or is all humanity the loser
And are politicians insane
How do you quantify
The lists of the dead . .
And the agony of relatives
Expecting news they will dread
The homeless, the hungry . .
That scavenge to survive
The maimed and the crippled
That lament being . . alive
Can’t something be done
To rationalize the cost
To counter aggression
Before more lives are lost
Is sharing so repugnant
Must greed rule mans head
Could future enemies be vanquished
Simply by sharing some bread
Stop hating race . . on principle
Dividing red white and black
Or needing another mans assets
Like the oils of Iraq . .
Does democracy bring equality
When somebody must rule
The more that I analyze . .
The more I conclude I’m a fool . .
Are religions good reason
To march off to wars . .
Should Jews, Muslims and Christian
Continually rekindle old scores
I wish God in his heaven
Would bang religious heads together
And insist His Bible, Torah and Koran
Should make better endeavor
No . . I simply can’t justify
The wars that I’ve seen ?
The deaths and the injuries
They are simply . . obscene

Greed is abounding. The seven deadly sins are affecting the hearts of humankind, and Satan is having his reign. I guess it is as it is written. That doesn't mean that we should ever stand for the insanity. You have done well to expose so many truths. Although this poem is heart-wrenching it needs to be heard. Masterfully written!
