Why do we have babies?
It’s a painful process and
Very one sided.
Dads to be, feel distant
And Mums to be, feel neglected
Yet there is something about a baby
Which is magnetic.
They have a unique aroma
Designed by God himself
To try and ignore it when you hold them
Is impossible.
You find yourself brushing your lips against their heads
Kissing their tiny hands and feet
Just to get a nose full
Of that wonderful baby smell.

yes He did make them with a unique odor, funny how the mom has it as well, well before birth, just as she is finding out she has a child growing, there is wonderful fragrance. and there just after birth an enveloping perfume of grace surrounds mother and child. I think when renaissance painters were trying to paint The Madonna with Child, so many employed a halo, seen as a spiritual blessing, may be more of an almost imperceptible fragrance.
lovely poem,
blessings and best wishes

yep,I totally agree with the idea and I dare suspect that this is how Heaven itself might smell!I like the fact that it suits perfectly with the topic given and moreso, in a very sensitive manner!well done indeed and good luck in the contest!
