To my friend who speaks Tsalagi

Hey hon...

this may sound silly, but can you help me with the word for CHICKEN?

Geoffrey wants to call his cat a chicken.
It is his catch word . . . no, his teacher says not to worry about it, just help him say it.

I've laughed all day as he chased this baby from pillar to post into an identity crisis.

Right now he is in the kitchen saying "stay still wesa chicken".
Chicken, chicken, chicken . . .
Poor kitty...
OUCH!!! Poor Geoffie! Caustic little kitty attitude just brought a bit of blood . . . not so insipid now!

Really? Tsitagv? That's chicken? How amusing. He's gonna love it!

Geoffie...the Cherokee word for chicken is tsitagv. No honey, like this . . . Je-TAW-ga

Oh My GOD...can you hear him? My belly hurts from laughing so hard!

My son is chasing his kitty again; round and round the kitchen calling

Calling . . .
C-Jaaay  CHITAGA, C-Jaaay  CHITAGA, C-Jaaay  CHITAGA,
He sounds like a freakin' train!

Where are this child's brakes???

with a soft chuckle, I scoop them both up in a gentle hug and wonder;

if any other little boy has endowed his wesa, with the moniker "
chicken "?

(god, I love this kid)

Author notes

I don't know how inspirationa l this will be, but the word list was good for sharing a real experience. ~A

Hehehe. This made me laugh and was very cute. It was more humorous than fitting to the criteria, but it's good nonetheless. I want to thank you for entering, however. You obviously love this one! CookieZeal

There's nothing as refreshing and endearing as the prattle of a child, the innocent language of their world. This is such a wonderful poem, Morning Rain, hilarious and wonderful

A big welcome to allpoetry ..and good luck in the contest.

Oh this one makes me GRIN!!!I love kids and thesillythingsthat they do from facial expressions to the things they ask to the things they create are just priceless! Sad for the kitten to be called "chicken" but wonderful for you just the same. A bit of a story that is true from me...my little brother hatched a chicken in an incubator at school and brought it home to the farm as a pet. Needless to say, this chicken has never lived a "normal chicken life"...Guess what its name was? KILLER!!! as if it were a a Rabid Mastiff instead of a chicken...lol...Anyway...welcome to AP and Good Luck!!!

Well, I'll have to play follower and say that this just made me smile. It was sooo cute, and I have a little kid in my life who gives me those kind of moments all the time. When all else fails, it's the cute carefree life of a kid that can make me smile.

You express sentiment well in this, and its anecdotal style lets it stand out. Nicely done.

what picture site? lol, i'm so confused!! lol. sure, by all means, i don't mind, it's flattering actually that u want to add me. lol. yea, some guys write really passionatly about sex with there girlfriends or what not. i think it's sweet. yea, i don't really talk to my mom and i hardly tell her about my poetry. if i showed my parents my "erotic" poetry, it'd just be weird. lol. they'd think i'm like...crazy or sex driven or shouldn't be old enough to write like that. lol, anyway, it was great talking to you, i'll talk to ya later. comment any time!! bye!!

    God Bless and rock ON!
    Lauren!

'God I love this kid' just about summed this up for me.
It's uplifting in the sense that it made me smile and the love for your little boy is so evident.
    thank you for entering.
    Good Luck
