a. j. ocean

it was october 5th 1985,
it was the iran-iraq war year #5,

day and night bullets and bombs wouldn't cease,
it was written on walls "we want peace",

in the middle of all this i was born,
i didn't even have a chance to mourn,

opened her heart and said mom,
"peace is what you are you are our Aram,

for those who didn't live you will thrive,
for those who have none you shall give,

future is horizon life is about to begin,
be the first to run for other's cries justin",

by the winter of life when others freeze,
i will still have my tides and breeze,

and while others try to use compass for navigation,
i take it head-up, chest-hard, hands-fisted, i am A.J. OCEAN.

Author notes

in persian aram means calmness relaxation and peace.

A nice rhyme scheme, and a wonderful play on your name. The way you give the reader the setting of your birth gives this poem a powerful edge.
