To teach is to touch

the mind of a child

when to others what's taught

sometimes seems mild

 

To teach is to touch

the heart of a child

to know it's all worth it

when one child smiles

 

To teach is to touch the life of a child

to hope as they grow

they won't be so wild

 

To teach is to touch

the warmth of a parent

so when they leave them

they can grin and bear it

 

To teach is to know

that we've done our best

to show these children love

and the way to success

I used to work with small children with disabilities and it's the best job anyone could ask for. smiles come easily to them and because of them!
