you want me to tell you something true
something that can't slip between
fingercracks and gapped teeth
or disappear when your eyes open
in the dim morning light
my head is dizzy from the
constant motion, it twists around
from place to place as each fleeting
glimpse of the truth flits by
flirting with my senses as
a sweet breeze plays with my hair
or teasingly colors my cheeks
i'm tangled in pretty lies
each one strangling me slowly
as the brilliant truth begins to fade
i'm not me, i'm not going anywhere
i can't break free from the illusions
the empty promises and hollow smiles
i've never felt so free as when
i'm captured in your gaze
i've never been so full of
this feeling that i'm glowing
i'm not afraid of falling now
because there you are, i can reach out
and touch you and know you'll be
there when i need you
there's where i find myself
and that's the truth

Excellent
This was an excellent piece of writing, very impressive and you most definitly deserved this Gold trophy. I love the way this is almost abstract until the last verse. Wonderful!

I love that even though this was an "unabashed love poem" it didn't read like a redundant cliche. It was fresh and inspiring... wonderfully penned. You always impress me.

I like many of your individual lines here, but the overall flow could be improved upon. It felt choppy at times. Still, it's beautiful.
