George Bush Poem

Liberty is it

What you preach.

Practicing

As you systematically eradicate

Us "poems" that vacate

The I pod way

of life.

It's not music

More like a holocaustic

Metaphor (only from a democratic eye)

Spawning

The great bee hive,

To the worker "black water" bees

And Bush the drag queen.

Who propagates

A news ticker,

"TERROR ELEVATED."

But the question is

From where?

A bullet dodging vacation

To Fallujah,

Or any other terror-nation?

So we can slaughter

Our sons and daughters,

Or those we will never,

Know the names of.

Just so we all can personally feel,

How to some,

Blood isn't thicker than oil.

In fear of

A crusading Baptist

or a (politically correct) Republican Jihad.

I say send Texas back home,

So he can play Napoleon,

Alone.

Author notes

I wrote this after listing to ani difranco who really put alot of the fuel in to the fire of this poem. She states in one of her poems that we are all "just poems 60% metaphor."

Please tell me what you think

This is good. I love the last three lines: "I say send Texas back home, So he can play Napoleon, Alone"

Wow, this is certainly on the mark as far as I'm concerned, this man has made our country a mockery, yes i said a mockery!

I like this, a lot actually. I agree with what you are saying. I love the democratic metaphor you put in there, mentioning the holocaust. I don't agree with people who have previously commented on the poem, those who said politcs have no place in poetry. Very, very sad to hear that. Some of the greatest poems by the most talented poets have been about current issues in politics. Music is poetry, the lyrics, and so many songs have been written about the government and about the corruption of one man, which lead to the deaths of many others.

I truly appreciate poets like you, who have the courage to stand up and speak what most of us are thinking! Kudus to you!

Now to be technical about the poetry and not the content: I loved you. The flow was impeccable. The format you used, it lead up to the concluding lines which, by the way, I really loved. I like how you mentioned Napoleon.

Great poem, all in all, I loved every line, every word, every metaphor.

I believe that Mr. G.W is a reflection of ourselves. Any critique about the man should include the American public.

60% metaphor of you have nothing better to do, 98% heart and feeling if you are good at exppressing yourself..a lot like this actually.

I don't agree whatsoever, but then again my political stances aren't appropriate here. I think you vented your opionons very well.

Well I thought it was good weather I agree or not. Not very many people care to publicly express political opinion. I like it though good job.

I can't really agree entirely on everything in this poem. I agree that Bush has made mistakes, but I think that he is doing some good.
