The Plunge

A moments decision
To take a plunge like any other
Seeing him watching you with so much anticipation
Awaiting an answer
Praying it to be the one he wants.

But how could she get the word out?
To make a giant step for them to become one
Taking that vow to one day be husband and wife
Spending the rest of eternity together.

For minutes or longer she is silent
Him not taking his eyes off her for a second
He repeats the question, "Alexis Casey Urquiza will you marry me?"
Finally I can muster a silent nod
And he nearly picks me up as he hugs me
For we have made that plunge
To now be engaged.

Please tell me what you think

Aw, this is beautiful. It makes me think of at first how scary it may feel to make a decision like marriage because it's a big step for a relationship, but I think if two people love each other with all their hearts and they can communicate their feelings to each other no matter what, then I think it's wonderful. Congrats to you. I wish you the best.

    Awesome!

I would love to take that plunge myself only if I had someone to plunge with ha ha. I liked your poem very much, it shows anticipation and anxiety. It was really a great poem. Thanks for sharing. Avril
