King Hugh’s Menu for the Huguelot Banquet. - a NON-ENTRY.

Missing image
King Hugh’s Menu for the Huguelot Banquet.
A Non-Entry.

As appetiser, raw bluff oysters vinaigrette is fine,
with Fiddlers Green Sauvignon Blanc my favourite choice of wine.

For entrée, Satay Chicken, grilled Thai style and skewered on sticks,
in peanut sauce, served on a bed of steamed white rice to mix.

For main course, I choose Thai Roast Pork and Veg. with Cashew Nuts -
and a touch of gentle Curry which should not upset my guts.
As second choice, Chinese Roast Beef and Veg. in Black Bean Sauce
(as long as it’s good beef and not some chopped up bits of horse!!)

I know the choice for my dessert may rather simple seem
but all I’d like is three large scoops of Vanilla Plain Ice-cream,
topped with liqueur Drambuie just to add some extra flavour
and, afterwards, iced Chocolate After-dinner Mints to savour.

With Cappuccino Coffee, I’ll provide some Singha Beer
but the main ingredient for a feast is lots of fun and cheer.

Hugh (R.) October 1st. 2007.

I'm just an old country hick so all those foods are lost on me. But I seem to like everything anyone puts on my plate so I see no reason I wouldn't enjoy that fancy stuff too. The problem is, how much is the banquet going to cost? Yours sounds pricey and I doubt my wallet will stretch that far. Lets say I first fill up on some McDonald's hamburgers and I'll just show up and have some of that vanilla ice cream, sans the Drambleberry booze sauce...I'm a little afraid of what that concoction might consist of....

      Dear Sir Yemassee,

Perhaps I should explain to you, this banquet is on ME.
In other words the food and booze, whate'er it is, is FREE!
Of course it will be held within the Castle HUGUELOT
and so, what e'er the cost may be, you will not pay a jot.

Drambuie is a Scotch liqueur. Its secret recipe,
devised in 1746 by Bonnie Prince Charley,
is based on Scotch Malt Whiskey, nutmeg, herbs and heather honey.
Its flavour indescribable transcends mere cost in money.
Produced in Broxburn, Scotland, it will come as no surprise
that its name 'Drambuie' simply means: "The Drink that Satisfies."

Och, ay tha' noo! Will ye no try a wee dram?

    Dear Hugh,
YUMMY! A fantastic menu you have chosen to present at the October Banquet. Except for the Oysters, except if the're used for an aphrodisiac, then I'll suffer them, especially =the way I like to use them. I'll tell you one day.
A corker of a poem my dear King.
    Love Jen OXOXOXOX

    Dear Hugh,

I've never tried half the things on your menu, but I'm a daring type and will try (almost) anything once. The oysters sound great...next to sour, any kind of seafood is an almost guaranteed favorite of mine. I think the King's menu ought to be included with the winner's choices...the king should always get what he wants, in my opinion!

    Love and s

The Thai food sounds delicious, quite yummy in fact!

Sounds yummy, Hugh Too bad yours can't be considered for judging... but it's only the beginning, maybe those coming next will have something just as good.

    Dear Hugh,
A great lot of good choices you have there. I remember going with you and Edna to the Thai Restuarant and eating some of those dishes-delicious they were.
Awwww, I know how much you love your oysters, maybe someone else will order them and if they win you will get your oysters.
A great poem my dear Friend.
    Love Bea.

    Dearest Uncle Hugh,

Can this be dinner for two? Sounds delicious mmmmm! Flavor to savor with a bit of naughty behavior! You would get my vote if you could, but you do get my vote for being the best Uncle Hugh there is. I love you.

    Hugs and love and kisses,
    Your ever loving niece,
