I did not know you
But the sudden, senseless loss of you
Etches a sadness in my soul
I did not know you
Unaware that I could
Now deprived of the chance
I did not know you
Did not know the creases of your smile
The rare tear that ventured to moisten your cheek
The laughter that overcame
I did not know you
Where you found your comfort
Who you could confide in
Why you burned so bright
So short
I did not know you
And yet I see you
In their faces, in their tears
I did not know you
But I feel you
Comforting
For after the mourning, comes light
And before morning, there must come night
I did not know you...
...but I did.
Author notes
In memory of Sarah Fox. Written June 2, 2004, soon after her murder. I didn't know her, but I knew a lot of people who did and could see the affect she'd had on them.

Dude I actually liked this.
This is pretty good. I think it actually illustrates something great, being able to sense others from others memories. That being said great work and it is also great because it was written for someone. It was a sad thing and I know what you been by it.

This is very well written, but also very sad...
But I understand what you mean, as I've experienced something like this when a good friend of some of my friends died... Well written =)
