Da Blues

Memories that haunt the Delta and the Piedmont, the tar paper shacks, the cajun camps, and the bayoues.
All the regrets and questions of  "why now" and "why youse".
The Grey Heron's flight.  The fog rolling in at night, and that woman.... gone.
Da Blues

All those artists of the seventy-eights.
The blacks and the whites of the eighty-eights
The back alleys and the red lights.
The drunks and the fist fights.
Da Blues.

And still that woman is gone.
Lost in a hundred songs from the
delta to Kansas City,
the woman is cursed without pity.
Her high heel step and her red dress slit.
Her cigarette smoke and her lies,
Her unfaithfulness and the curve of her thighs.
Her drum beat heart and her guitar string moan.
The way she walked out with everything you own.
Da Blues.

Da Blues. You capture the veneer of a hard walk, and I can see this in my mind. The rhythm in the lines only adds to the blues feeling, like a city pulses when you are alone on the streets at night, and everything watches you with covert eyes and sly fingers.

You are wonderfully evocative in your writing, and I'm enjoying your talent.

This is very good!!! It holds the readers attention, & speaks from the ages of wisdom & the knowing of art & blues! Excellent!!!

  • That woman was lost so long ago, she really was never there to be had just a figment in your mind.

Singing the blues, it comes from the soul and burns deep like a river in the valley of tears.

Let the blues live and singing another song Lightning Hopkings, T-Bone Walker, LedBelly and all

I have my favorite songs, Glory Be, We shall overcome and even some old folks songs and this one could be sung along.

I like it, I like it so!
