BILL FITZSIMONS
Since leaving his native country, Ireland, in the summer of 1955, Bill, like many emigrants before him, has maintained a strong and passionate link with Ireland and matters Irish. He has a particular interest in history and literature and this is reflected in his poetry, along with love, death, childhood and the experience of being uprooted from his past. Bill sees poetry as being both a natural expression and a vital element in Irish tradition.
He lives in the city of Leeds in Northern England, where he has resided for many years. He is retired now, but is an active member of Lucht Focail, an Irish poetry group, who have published two volumes of poetry in recent years. Bill also holds a degree in English Literature from Leeds University.

This is very good; informative and fairly succinct. I know where you came from, where you are, what you are doing and where your interests lie. Either you really read my contest instructions and even clicked on the link to see how a short bio is done
or you have vast experience. Only one tweak "an Irish poetry group, who *has* published" since group is singular (no?) This might have to be condensed further due to space considerations but you have provided an editor with a well written starting point that would make it extremely easy to do. Thank you very much for coming to the bio workshop.
