Another Empty Way

You try to do well and such
but seem to be stuck
In all the evil and other
never-ending junk.
Caught up in the lies
and drowning under it all.
The more I pick up the pieces
The more that I fall.
Old and empty skulls stare
all completely unaware.

There.
But still I will
.... Fill
all that does not stay
another empty skull
in another empty way.

    I understand that first stanza, but I'm finding it hard to grasp the full meaning of the next. I like the image of the empty skulls. They signify death and darkness but also a lack of intelligence and substance. None are aware of your plight ...?
