Hallows Eve Warning

Beware the night of Hallows Eve,
when gusty breezes flow the night.
Darkened shadows lurk with ease,
and ghouls and goblins then unite.

Ghastly things slide and slither,
through the mist in costumes fly.
Frightfulness they soon deliver,
with painted faces of sly disguise.

When hounds howl baying at the moon,
and hoot owls feathered fly the night.
And hissing black cats growl in doom,
and sounds go bump you can't define.

Watch your step in where you tarry,
in musty leaves across hollowed ground.
Cold bony fingers pull down and bury,
unsuspecting victims of hearts that pound.

I envy not a lone traveler on this night!
Far too many terror tales do I hear.
Of bloody gore spilled in merciless fright,
by restless souls who lurk far and near.

    Thanks for your entry

Nicely told, good flow and structure. Good creep factor lol Gives a nice little chill up the spine. I liek the small white font as well. I think it really works with the poem.

    Happy Halloween

Wow! VERY well done! The rhyme and rhythm match up perfectly and the flow is wonderful. The story is told in such a fanciful way the warning it speaks of is long forgotten within the beauty of this piece. Wonderful job on this. Keep up the great work and good luck in the contest

Wow, great tale! You have done well to cover all the creeps and spook's. The last two lines ended it well. Best of luck to you in the contest!

    ghostly tale

Ghost and gouls that stalk the halowed night, full of
images of wanderings of lost souls and those who
haunt this hallowed Eve.. Lovely tale poem.
