DecaDance

Smooth sugary seduction swirls,
My sticky journey
into rapturous release.

Bittersweet cocoa cacophony.

Tingling taste bud tittilation.

Senses spiraling upwards in
glycemic ecstasy...

Only to crash once again,
Perpetuating
The decadent depend-dance.

Author notes

This was a collaboration with my husband Dante. Thank you my love.

Congratulations on the gold. Everything about this one is SWEET. Carefully chosen words coated in alliteration make a tasty treat this morning with my coffee. This is one of the few dances I do well.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long

I so love the picture of the chocolate-dipped strawberry... I remember a valentine's night last year with exactly this too. Writing with your husband is soooo wonderful and the two of your really know how to write playful sensuality (and not only writing it I guess, lol). Lovely dance of passion that speaks to all the senses!!

Blush!!! Hmmm yes we write sensuality well. Dante and I have fun doing this. I get the original idea, He plays with it and then I change again the things I don't like all that much. It is an amazing experience to share this with him every once in a while. You do know that you are special doncha???

      Hugs and lots of kisses.

    tasty imagery...so much meanings we

could read, even if only enjoying a simple pleasure.
Wonderful write, and good to remind us to stop and
enjoy an occasional sweet, good use of imagery, wonderfully chosen words that delight us.
    good good job!

Thanks again Kathleen. Your comments today were precious and Dante and I really appreciate them. Sweets are a necessary pleasure to help us remember all the good things in life. Yes, there is many levels to this, but most of all, it was fun to write this piece.

this is beautiful. The pic of chocolate strawberry creates a sensual feeling for the poem. Especially liked the part of glycemic ecstasy. Made me think of the sweetness that glycerine can bring, as the sweetness that can be brought by the feeling of love. Good luck in the contest.
