There’s no use living in the past
Unless it finds you
And even if it does there’s nothing you can do
She’s been having a hard year I guess
That’s the reason why she left the mid-west
And all the ghosts she brings can’t hide the shame
Blue eyeliner running down her face
The music she plays the only saving grace
Turn it up loud, here comes another sob
Mom can’t hear because she’s at her job
And nothing in the world is making sense
She won’t come back again
Others can’t see the truth she hides
Because she’s getting so good at keeping it inside
She finds out about the world through her computer screen
And she’s fifteen and already been through
A hell of a lot more than she would like to
Admit between the walls of her confusion
Blue eyeliner running down her face
Knowing she has friends the only saving grace
Scream it out load, here comes another sob
Mom still can’t hear because she’s at her job
Still nothing in the world is making sense
At least he won’t come back again
Author notes
I know, it sounds like a crappy country song, but I kind of wrote it that way. The lyrics sound weird without the melody, but I'm sure that none of you would like to hear me sing!
