My Prayer

God in heaven help me
I ask thee this night
I need thee more than ever now
And I know you can always help

Teach me my Master, my Lord, my God;
Peace and perceverance
Valor and not vanity

To be thy daughter I want to prove
And show to all around me;
My countenance will shine for what I know
A beam and glee that thou hast shown

The son above that gives me warmth;
I thank thee dear God for soothing my soul

A prayer of pleading can only bring
A peace of mind to all of me
I cry when I think of when that day comes
To see thee dear Lord in front of me

My only wish is to accomplish my mission
In which thou hast bestowed upon me
And I will do it Lord
I promise thee this night
I will do what thou hast asked of me

I’m ready now
I’ve set things straight
I now can accomplish all my dreams and ambitions

I’m strong; I’m determined
No one can or will hinder my way;

No cruel words or obstacles from others
I will not stop and look away from my dream

Straight and narrow
Holding on tight to the rod
Faltering not
And leaving the door open to my God in heaven
Forever more
A constant companion
By my side
To strive for heaven
