tripping on a thin line
disappearing into the crowd
while bingeing on emptiness
stand alone figurine
pre-cut, pre-primped, pre-packaged
no assembly required
submerged in a plague
digging the hole deeper
staring from a window
sole witness to a withering soul
sound the alarm
signal the cavalcade
call a doctor
…or stoically observe
it’s not right, tonight
leaves crunch, crackle
up, myriad of stars
not one lucky?
pluck it down
smother the bright
kill the light
bring the night

The flow of this poem is amazing, and the imagery is intense. I love the feeling of conformity wanting to break free. Absolutely beautifully written!
