Turtles Are Exempt ( Duette)

Watered adobes are hiding shades
whose viewings have secret places
all those rocky sanctuaries
where slow poke shells are exempt
their social grace
seeks other
worlds.

    Great imagery!

I liked the imagery of "watered adobes" and "rocky sanctuaries". How creative you are to invent your own poetic form! You said it was meant to be cryptic so forgive me if I miss the message, but to me it speaks of those who don't fit the mold, socially or otherwise, the ones who don't concern themselves with appearances or status symbols. This poem seems to celebrate those who go at their own pace, with purpose, and quietly achieve goals that may go unnoticed by the rest of the world..."their social grace seeks other worlds". I enjoyed this. Very thought provoking.

      Thank you ever so much!
Your interpretation enhances the original idea, and you are so right.
"This poem seems to celebrate those who go at their own pace, with purpose, and quietly achieve goals that may go unnoticed bye the rest o the world.." Right on the target with that.
