One night deep in the Black Forest
A hunter padded over the new blanket of snow
Leaving traces of paw prints
Fallowing the scent of the hunt
A deadly predator
But also a leader
Weaving through the trees
Head of the pack leading the rest
White as could be
A quiet sentinel protecting friends
A wolf I am
Two eyes watching you from the trees

Excellent work . I really like the imagination and imagery put into this one. Good luck in my contest

Good poem but I'm afraid it doesn't fit the topic for this contest. This is for poems about your favorite animal. Is a wolf your favorite? Also I stated clearly in black and white in the rules I don't want anything involving hunters or hunting. Sorry but this poem is disqualified.

This is a good write. It sounds almost identical to what a wolf would do. I hope that you keep writing I'd love to read more.
