There is a great silence that lives;
breathes
Takes its' breaks and rolls with the punches
There is a place it dwells;
stays.
Where nothing moves or makes a bump
I know this silence though I am solitary;
lone.
And I know the peace.
Too far can it be seen from white towers
and low valleys
Too low is it to conquer.
But still there is a sound silence;
And it sounds like nothing else.
Muffled by the air
covered by the day
I sound too much like stars.
Deeply it cuts the night in a white blanket;
trampled, crushed, it breaks
and sounds no more.
Author notes
I don't much remember where this one came from, just that it came and I'm glad I wrote it because it expresses an emotion fairly intangible.

This takes the reader straight into your mood, for all the intangibility of emotion, you have made a great job of forming words around your feelings here, I was held by the silence, the profound stillness that can nevertheless be broken. And the anomaly of silence sounding no more... this is a maze of a poem, a signpost to a search someone will hardly realise they are on until they find it makes sense. Thank you. I must read more of you...

Geez, are all of your poems so beautiful, I guess so! Haha, I like the word play on this too, the way it uses metaphors, and such decisive word pictures,

wonderful as usual, Reighna.
