Queen Katherine

She kissed me deeply, then left me in my shame,
that I did not know who she was, or even her name,
Her scent lingers, as does the image of her face,
is all that I have left of her, in this holy place,
In her eyes, a sadness there, a secret that she could not bear,
of love's cost and deep despair, which only now I start to share,
You see she lived her life for me, and out of love became,
the lady I had created, to whom I gave my name.

Author notes

I wonder if king henry tudor at chapel thought of her like this?
