Family Portrait

What would it look like if we had our family portrait done?
Me in the middle, My sister, step-sister, adopted sister and half-brother to my left,
The youngest of my siblings,
My other two step-sisters, three step-brothers and other adoped sister to my left, their kids in tow,
My parents and step parents sat infront, smiling, cheerfully and admiring the work they had done...

Who am i kidding... that's never going to happen...
Disfunctional families don't have happy family portraits...
And with the amount of people in my family, it would be more like a whole school photo if I'm honest.

But do I care? No not really.
They might be biologically connected to me but in my eyes they couldn't be further from being my family.
I have my family.
The older brother; Rob, always there to pick me up when I'm down, comfort me and support me in all my decisions, and protect me from the world, and in some cases myself.
The younger brother; Adam, the clown of the family, a bit of a tare-away but good to have a laugh with and the occasional meaningful conversation.
The sister; Gabby, always there to talk to, borrow clothes of, and to dress me up ready to go out.
The soulmate; Alex, generally a grumpy sod but i can read him too well so it's easy to snap him out of it, there to talk to about anything, would jump off a cliff if it would help me get to where i want to go, continously reminds me that im amazing.

So there you have it... That's my real family,
The close knitt community that we should all belong to,
Mine has no biological ties but we dont need that,
Our emotional ties are what holds us together.

Now that's a familty portrait worth having,
The genuine beaming smiles of five people who cant stay depressed in each others presence,
United for enternity,
In love til the end.
