An impulse had awakened me,
The Lunar Goddess had arrived.
I wandered along the ocean shore
My soul felt so revived.
My path She had now illuminated,
By Her sweet and subtle embrace.
The darkness is Her playground,
Draping the world in lace.
Her beauty says to, "Covet me,
Wish you were my own".
For a moment I stopped my wandering
Somehow She must have known.
"I see you out here every night,
You come to watch me dance.
If it's true that you covet me,
This is your only chance".
I shyly began to speak,
But She said, "Be not afraid,
A kiss from me and a dance from you
Seems like an honest trade".
Her words slightly chilled my heart.
Though I took her fair white hand,
We danced on the shore until nearly dawn
Until the Sun required She remand.
"I'll remain true to my word".
Then Her lips met mine.
Engulfed in her glow
I too felt divine.
She smiled and turned away,
And went home to the sky.
But after I watched her go,
Tears gathered in my eyes.
Forever shall I remember
The kiss of the Lunar Goddess,
And I'll always go back to the shore
To wait for the darkness.
