I ask this Question of myself sometimes.... this is the answer.
The ones who need god are the one's who need hope. That that thing on the other side of our world, the darkness that waits for us when we die, Isn't all that's left. We need the hope that we will be saved by someone, someone other than the one's already here. That there is a light among all that darkness. My friend likes to take me to church, where I learn all these things about the Bible and the word of god. She's always talking about how "Jesus died for us, and so we are unworthy of being in God's grace. But we are in his grace, and he loves us." I like to ruffle her feather's every once and a while cause it's fun, but here is the truth of the matter by my own observations.
I don't know if I'm in is his grace or not. I don't know if he really died for me or not. But here is what I do know, When I die I will be surrounded in darkness, all alone with no one to lean on. The blackness will be suffocating, and all I can hope is that a light will come to guide my soul to somewhere better, where I won't have to worry about my family, whre I can watch future generations grow up and learn, because that's all I want to do when I die.
A lot of people think that their religon is the best, without seeing from any other veiw points. I grew up in a home were what religon you were didn't really matter. All that mattered was that you were happy with your religon. My father is catholic, my moms baptist. One of my friends is a atheist, one of them is Protestant. My sister hasn't choosen a religon yet, and my brother is a catholic too. My grandmother doesn't have a religon really, she's just spiritual. One of my friends and her mother are Wiccan.
I don'tknow what religon I am yet, it's all still veyr confusing, their are so many religons, And who knows which ones best? I believe that if you do good in this life, you will be rewarded when you finally die. I believe in souls, and in right and wrong, and that the color of you're soul changes with every decision and deed that you do. I try and be a good person, to not hate anyone, to allow others to think what they will and to not fight with them about their religon. It's everyones own right to choose their religon, I will not argue that. But when you decide that anothers rights aren't as important as your own, their religon isn't as goosd as you're own, I believe that's wrong.
When you die it doesn't matter what religon you are; Atheist, Jewish, Buddist, Penacostal, Muslim, Catholic, etc. When you reach death, All you want is arms that will hold you tight and never allow any harm to come to you. That is what I want, to me it doesn't matter, really what religon you choose. In the End all you want is to be loved, to be guided to a better place. I hope people read this and get what I'm trying to say. To put it as bluntly,
"The constitutional freedom of religion [is] the most inalienable and sacred of all human rights." --Thomas Jefferson: Virginia Board of Visitors Minutes, 1819. ME 19:416
"In our early struggles for liberty, religious freedom could not fail to become a primary object." --Thomas Jefferson to Baltimore Baptists, 1808. ME 16:317
Religious freedom is an absolute right, and includes the right to practice any religion of one’s choice, or no religion at all, and to do this without government control.
The Freedom of Religion is an inalienable right.
The First Amendment provides for the Freedom of Religion for all Americans.
The Free Exercise Clause provides that government will neither
control nor prohibit the free exercise of one’s religion.
I hope you get what I'm saying, thanks for reading this.
