Close your eyes and rest your body and mind...
Can you picture my fairytale ending?
I looked deeply into your sparkling eyes
As you asked me to marry you,
To be your future bride.
A large grin curved at the edge of my lips,
My heart skipped at beat as I nodded
And answered you "Yes."
♥
I watch with a slight smile as you grab a box,
Lift it and carry it out to your car.
I look up the stairs to my Mother,
A simple nod,
And I head out the door.
I walk into my new home, unpack all my belongings,
And lay down on our bed in your arms.
My eyes close, a smile on my lips,
As I whisper my love to you.
♥
With a large smile set upon my face,
I look down at you, keeping inside tears,
As you, my knight in shining armor, bring out a small box.
Down on one knee, you ask once again with that ring.
You need no answer and simply slip it onto my finger.
My arms wrap around your neck as you stand,
And I kiss your sweet lips.
♥
I stand in the empty living room,
So small yet so large in my eyes,
As you help your cousin bring in furniture.
Slowly I walk around, exploring the rooms,
I stop at the bedroom and lean against the door frame.
I smile as I feel your arms wrap around me
And I place my hands over yours and relax in your hold.
I turn my head to look up at you and kiss you
Before telling you how much I love you.
♥
I look in the mirror to my best friend,
Who stops fiddling with my hair to return the gaze.
She complements my beauty on this day,
And I simply laugh and can't help but agree.
The time has come that I had long awaited.
I stand and turn to her and we embrace.
She leaves the room, and I grab my bouquet of flowers.
I turn to look at myself once more before following her.
I stand at the end of the aisle, awaiting my cue.
The music starts, and I take a step forward.
I try to keep back the tears as I see you standing there,
Watching me with that amazing smile.
After what seems like an eternity, I finally reach you.
You take my hand and gently kiss it,
Just as you've always done,
Before turning to the minister.
Before the ceremony continues, you mouth an "I love you"
and I return the words.
♥
I smile as you lovingly kiss my stomach
Before kissing my lips and laying with me.
I rest my head on your shoulder and my hand on my belly,
Your hand overlapping it in a loving way.
I turn my head and smile at you before kissing you once more,
And whispering how much I love you.
You tell me you love me, too,
Then look to my stomach and say the same
Before kissing it gently again.
I can't stop smiling as I watch you,
Thinking of how great a father you will be...
Open your eyes and answer me this...

A fairytale ending... what a beautiful, fanciful thought... but will it ever, ever, EVER, come true? Nothing will ever be perfect or even good, no matter how oft we dream of it.
As a poem, this is amazingly written. I loooove the flow and the rythym of your words. Nicely done, and I wish you the very best in luck
