but I dare not speak them

The words float on my breath-
they leave my lips,
but they never reach your ears
because I mouth the words,
but dare not speak them
or so much as whisper...
they bubble in my stomach-
worse than butterflies-
in the depths of my soul.
but I dare not speak them.
I hold you tight,
feeling them wholly,
but still,
I dare not speak them.
