Firefly

The firefly send sparks,
Starting his quest for a mate-
His first and last light

Author notes

This is a great form of poetry that flows from my thoughts, though the picture I see is greater, I have summed it all up beautifully in such short verse.

You're damn right about that. The picture your paint in my head is really vivid, clear and breath-takingly beautiful (stop messing with my head. Now!)

Fireflies .. don't really know much about them but they are wondrous creature (can you tell that I cannot spell)

All the best and keep writing,
    Never ♥

A nice and interesting piece, I did find Lines 2 & 3 a bit telling rather than a simple image though.

    Good luck in the contest.

Interesting bit of information. I think you might want to say 'the firefly sends' instead of 'send'. Beautiful poem. I liked that you said 'last light' instead of 'last night', which is what I was expecting. Nice use of an almost-cliche. Great job.

lol. Not to break the annomitity, but just to spead knowledge around, when a male firefly "glows," it is pretty much the last thing he ever does. When a firefly is ready to mate, a chemical in its body, Luciferin, reacts in a way that causes the one small flash of light, used to attract a female sexual patner. After a femal is attained and the mating completed, the male firefly dies. . 'Tis true
