Money,
a necessary evil of modern life
that seems as though becoming
an ever rarer commodity
Power,
a self delusion
of the rich and shameless
that they are both important and respected
Lust,
a feast for the mind
and senses, yet a desire
that is often too fleeting to sustain
Pride,
the sacrificial lamb
in the perceived pursuit
of ultimate happiness
Friendship,
the only true saving grace
for souls trapped in a world
plagued by temptation.

Very good! Spoken so wisely and thoroughly. I love how you used the prompt to point out flaws in every day society. Keep up the good work, and good luck in the contest.
-
very well written and very true of life, we all have temptations we just need to learn to control them and to recognise them

-
Well done on separating the temptations known to us all and describing them in their bare form, which we tend to avoid. Good luck in the contest. The economy of words and the short piece really works for me.
-
Oh what a wonderful job you have done here.
I really enjoyed this
Good luck in the contest
