Today, the end, it came with the flood
Orchestrated fools failures for their God
Today the bastard son of excess
Burnt away, fell away
To smash upon the ground
The waters came, save us from the flood
The elements have come to drag you away
The waters rose hunting man to his grave
The river burst its banks
Clay and soil, grass and stone
Erased from mans land
Today the warning was wrote in the sky
Ignored as meaningless, mans reliance blinded him
Machines and technology failed mankind
Battered and twisted in the storm
Maelstrom of metal and broken glass
The waters came, save us from the flood
The deed is done, souls wash away
The reliance on others takes us to our grave
The skies have opened and each tear is a soul
Sliding down the face of God
To rain upon the ground
Nothing came
No-one saved us from the flood
Fleeing like ants, we drown
Mankind must fall
The bastard technologies washed Gods name away
His reckoning, this cleansing we see today
All around nothing but the wounded skin of the Earth
Bleeding crystal clarity with no reflection for mans heart
Fools and dagger blows to the core
Burrowing, tunnelling, we eviscerate our land
Mourned and lost we sink in the black
Dreaming and not yet dead
Reflecting on how we were led to this
All of us gave birth to this
The ending of our age
So today the warning brought a flood
It sought out mankind’s wrath
Extinguishing Earths pain
Relinquishing our grip
Our mighty fingers turned to dust
Conquered by the elements we are gone
Returned to the ground as penance for what we have done
Please tell me what you think

Nice poem with some deep message and interesting description. I paused over the use of 'wrote'... somehow it didn't seem right, but since the poem switches tenses throughout, it did seem right on second reading.

This is a powerful submission and a glorious diatribe against the absurdity of the village world we inhabit - but for how long? Convincing parameters I should say.
