The cliches of poetry flood my mind.
The bird singing, the children laughing.
Today is a good day.
I am calm and relaxed.
I am listening to Vivaldi.
Today is a good day.
It's bright and sunny. It's spring.
I can smell the wattle in the air.
Today is a good day.
I stir my drink and let it keep.
Close my eyes and dream.
Today is a good day.
Moments later, I drink the cup.
The cool liquid I finish.
I rinse the glass and put it away.
Go to my bed, and there I lay.
Today is a good day.
I close my eyes. I dream of love.
I dream of friends that I've known.
And happy now and relaxed, at ease.
I wait for the light to go.
Today is a good day.
I drift away, my KCN
Put an end to me.
And I think to myself, with a smile on my face
As I drift of from this place.
As I die, as I lay
Today is a good day.

The repetition works beautifully here and lends a rhythm which totally suits the subject. Loved it - thank you x

You're on rapid fire reading all my poems I see. I'm trying to read a few of yours but I'm not as fast! Regardless, thank you for your comments on all my poems... Hope you enjoy them.
