The far away look in his eyes,
no unexpected roses for
an unplanned surprise
no picnic lunches full of romance
no gentle whisper
"May I have this dance?"
All this and more
when our love was new.
Now it's the things he doesn't do.
We've settled in a mundane routine.
So many pleasantries I could just scream.
no reckless lovemaking on the kitchen floor,
no breathless gasps that you want me more
no shining knight to whisk me away
to lovingly whisper what he doesn't say.
Author notes
hope it is good enough, I know it rhymes.. if not good enough sorry..

very smooth and lovely write, sad to find romance is gone...one of many people fear this in life. I could sense your pain in this poem. Excellent job, thank you for sharing

The rhyme flowed well enough, I'm not sure I could identify, but a good solid poem.
