I couldn't stay.
After all, what was left for me
If I couldn't change?
The same old life,
The old faces,
The same smells, and sights,and sounds;
But worst of all
I would be forever forced into a world
With an absense of excitement.
How could I be with someone who
Is resistant to change?
Who could never come out of his daily routine
And really live life?
How could I be with someone who
Won't grant me a simple request?
You know I've always wanted a puppy.
But you always said
"No."
Your excuse was too much work and responsiblity,
But I know the real reason is
A new creature would be an intrusion into your daily life.
So, even though I love you,
And always will in some way,
I'm leaving for a new life...
One with a dog.
