Memories

Wake up with the dying light
Of twinkling stars
Their delicate memories
Seen in your heart
Remember how at such moments
your past matured
The concepts of Life and love
In your minds eye
Would you feel the longing
Would everything be okay

Let the sunrise hit your eyes
Let warmth tingle
In your fingertips
And know that someone else
Is standing right beside you
Despite the distance
From another time in your life
Flashing through the same memories
Feeling the same way you do
Wondering if you're okay
And how things would have been
If the time you spent together
Could have been endless.

You have some really lovely images and thoughts here, and I like the message I got from the poem...which may or may not be what you intended. It speaks to me of friendship that lasts through time, and even if the two people aren't necessarily close any longer, there is always that connection between them.

Thanks so much for your entry, and good luck in the contest. I loved your last 2 lines especially.

    Best wishes,
    ~J.

I'm really feeling the messge in this piece. Sometimes we get physically and emotionally attached to someone and something beyond our control happens to seperate us. Then we're left wondering "what if?". Thanks for bringing these emotions out through your work.

This is a really good poem, it has a nice flow, and some wonderful imagery.
It's the kind of poem which will mean something different to every person, which is a hard thing to achieve, but you've pulled it off really well

This appears to me to be the kind of poem that means something significant to the writer, and we as readers are truly left with our own interpretation... I really like the way you have written your thoughts out here... free flowing and without inhibition.
