Franklin D. Roosevelt,32nd President of the United States
We fall upon the night wondering
What has happened to the day.
Sun has vanished from the sky
Has our conscious gone awry?
Crawling beneath warm blankets
Have we no visions of
Those who have none?
Upon the fringe of society
The powerless do dwell
Upon the top of the hill we sit
Ignoring them at our peril

Profound
A great look at the depth of your streaming thoughts. I love the recognition of what happened to the day and its relavence compared to a cold homeless person without the means to stay warm. Great perspective and display of your character.

Hello Trafalger679Curious.
First of all this has to be the most real write of yours I have come across it, I can almost understand and relate to it, ahhaha. On a serious note; an interesting write, that has different threads which are connected running through it. We have the thread pertaining to our own conscience, and also a thread about causality, karma, and duality. I like this piece of yours.
My regards.

Awaken, awaken and listen to the perils of your own creation. Arrogance, greed, and difference will sweep you from the hill. The shoeless dregs will soon muster and wield a mighty sword vengeance, vengeance, vengeance will be their battle cry. Great poem I love it. Good luck in the contest.
