You Are Mine

I wear you
as a woman wears a red satin dress
sleek, and touching every curve

As your heart covers all of me
    leaving mine trembling
  for more of these words

I'll fight to find every secret
    in the words you've spoken
and to discover the rhythm the waves paint
as they wash on the shores of your ocean

I'll search you
as a lover searches for his lover's lips
  in the dark
where passions softly warm

Because you are the most passionate of wars
here, in the hollows of stars
in the spaces where you've written yourself
      endlessly
in words branded to my heart

There are a thousand reasons for starving
and only one way to be full
    you are my only desperation
and you hold my only world

Author notes

This is nothing but the purest of loves, one that knows no way to end or slow down.

The first stanza was amazing. It truly wraps up the whole poem in a word. Amazing. Nice job. Thanks for entering.

Wow this is so awesomely penned! I love the red satin dress. Very cozy. Trust in love is to tune in and listen. Love is to be exposed to the best life-changing emotions. These lines -
and only one way to be full
and you hold my only world
    especially this too -
and to discover the rhythm the waves paint
as they wash on the shores of your ocean
My husband was the right kind of guy who crossed my path, a childhood dream coming true. The love is there so is the devotion. I have no questions. I feel your poem without ambiguity and totally serene. Pleasurable to read and to write him poems now
