Heather must have had some insanely good entries to only give this a HM, because it blew me away. I've read so many commentaries on society and media etc etc etc, but this really is brilliant hun. It kind of makes me feel sorry for them, while almost hating them at the same time. You leave me feeling more like a contradiction than normal, it's what I love about your work.

... don't fret; I promise not to gush

Very intelligent piece... every verse thick in truths.

For me the cliche line struck a chord... the contributions and relevance of them deemed too readily habitual... I don't get it... our whole system of society is one big cliche. Our very nature promotes addiction.

    The second to last verse:

    but for deeper lies -
    a suspension of [self] belief
    is prerequisite.

Ummm. Very well put... I savored that thought.

    Thanks, Kj

My favorite today, but who knows what tomorrow brings, this is wonderful a stroke of genius, I like best the irony of it all, like a big whif of smoke. The last line is great reflection, I loved this one, you keep it up your getting better and better.

    Uh huh.

Bunch of denial that keeps people getting out of bed in the morning. There almost has to be. Though, finding that honesty within yourself is always a relief. Always..even when it hurts.
