Sun Rise

Missing image
My soul seems to be as dark as the clouds

and as cold as the waters

about as bright as the dull light

that stands at the end of the board walk

When I am feeling pain and stress

this is the place I come to for a long peaceful walk

  to relax my mind

Just to sit on the edge and have a conversation

  with the ocean

  that doesn't talk back

But still gives the best advice

  The sounds of the waves

  helps to clear my thoughts

close my eyes and take a deep breath

  intaking the fresh air

  Just imagine problem free

Realize life is to much to bare

and never cracked up to be

  what it's suppose to be

Vision my high hopes and dreams

When the eyes open strive to make it a reality scene

My heart aint as dark as I made it out to be

It can get brighter like the clouds when the sun begins to rise

My soul aint as cold as I made it out to be

It can get warmer like the wind when the sun begins to rise

I need to stop hiding like an eclipse

and come out of the shadow like when the beauty of the sun rise

And be proud of who I am and how much I love and

Thank God, smiling down at me from the heavens is an amazingly

  beautiful sky of blues.

All by sitting and watching the day go by.

This reminds me of my own house. It's positioned right in front of the sea and so it's always refreshing to sit outside in the balcony and let everything clear from your mind. You've described it erfectly here...
In fact, it teaches you a thing or two - even if much of it doesnt make sense, it leaves you with a feeling that you've gained something.

    Never ♥

I really like how you brought your thoughts together in this piece. Just one thing - why the space between the sentences?
Anyway, I really like it. Great imagery and good descriptive thoughts.

Unfortunaly, you broke a rule, so I can't accept this!

    Hi Joyce,

As I read I was thinking, "Geez, I hope like heck she entered this in a contest. It's fantastic!" So you can imagine how thrilled I was when I got to the bottom and saw your Gold trophy!

I love the imagery in this piece. That and the train of thought you describe are incredibly inspirational. This is one of those uplifting poems I will come back to again and again - just to remind myself that things aren't usually as bad as they often seem.

Beautiful job, and congrats on that shiny trophy.
    Much love,
    ~J.

My friend, the ocean rescued me on my return from overseas, many days, late nights, i spent, alone with thopughts, at times something to read, but trying to heal heart and soul from the traumas. It cause me to relax internally, soothe my heart and mind, eased the anxieties.

A beautiful writing about the soul and hope. I delight in reading this. I never read the features anyways. Poems like yours are truly gifted. There is laws of reciprocity about the substance of the soul. You can cut down the time and minimize the useless costs of other or another. A beautiful vulnerability in restoration of grace. Love these lines -
And be proud of who I am and how much I love and
Thank God, smiling down at me from the heavens is an amazingly beautiful sky of blues.
All by sitting and watching the day go by.
All the questioning is you will get there and better than you ever could have imagined always with authenticity. Love your pic.

I love the idea of talking to the ocean, and the type of conversation you can have with it. This is really great, quite beautiful. Congrats on the gold.

    Peace

I like the outdoors, but it's still so hot here! This place you write about sounds amazing though. Sometimes just sitting down to watch God's creation is a wonderful thing. We get so caught up in the day to day junk, that we forget such beauty is all around us. beautiful thoughts Sis. I love ya! Bubba

These words that you found within your heart
are so beautiful and sweet. It's amazing how
nature although unable to speak our language,
can easily bring you to a state of tranquility.
It's almost like being hypnotized or falling
asleep and waking up in another place and time.
Every second that goes by, your heart sighs
    feeling so contented.

    I love these lines:

"Just to sit on the edge and have a conversation
    with the ocean
    that doesn't talk back
But still gives the best advice
    The sounds of the waves
    helps to clear my thoughts
close my eyes and take a deep breath
    intaking the fresh air"

Beautiful work here my friend and all the best to you
with this one in the contest! Thanks a lot for sharing it and keep it up!
