Trick or Treat

Clouds dancing like ghosts in the dark night sky
Trees with twisted branches ready to pounce
Crisp leaves crunching under our feet

A old spooky house
Jack-o-lanterns glowing bright
A spider crawling pitter-patter along the floor

Silently walking up the steep narrow staircase
A creaking step
Dark creepy shadows stretching across the ground

A black cat jumps out hissing
Stepping back looking at each other nervously
Taking one final step to the top

Tap, tap, tap, on the big wooden door
Waiting as the squeaky door slowly opens
We yell, “TRICK OR TREAT”

    Lovely job on the background and the poem. A total fakeout with the all scary then find out it is just some trick or treaters. I like the border best in this background. It is really quite eye catching. Nothing says Halloween like a grinning Jack o Lantern.

    There were only 9 entries in this contest and I did specify that if there were not at least 15 I would close it, so thank you for the entry I enjoyed the read, but I'm afraid I am cancelling the contest

    Cute! Makes one believe it to be spooky when really just for laughs. Wonderfully done.
