City Lights Fade

Missing image
Inert gases
tout tawdry
titillations

Illuminate
paved paths
to hellish
haunts

Bad intentions
in sin soaked
stagnant pond

Lurid
Las Vegas
invitations
dazzle -
guzzle,
gamble
drink,
debauch...

illicit felicity,
fun and frolic
unfurled in
neon netherworld

~~~
Disenchanted
denizen
forges Ford
forward
- final glance
at pallid promises -
- Gomorrah glows
gaudy still
Firefly flits,
points pathway
to reality,
to civilized
enlightenment
In rear-view
mirror
Babylon
burnishes
fainter,
ever
fainter
Along with
it's
delusive
dreams
    the 8th stanza
    is amazing... breath taking... love this piece... the flow, the alliteration... the comparisons...
    very vivid imagery.... it inspires the reader to visualize the picture you've included...
    wonderful! very rich and filled with poetic elements!
    Grammar excellent,alliteration so rich that the reader had to read this aloud.You do not need to add pictures to your poetry.Pure poetry paints the picture and your poetry does that.Title apt.This lesser poet may have instead written "debauchery, it illicts felicity..."
    A read worthy of the time taken and the pleasure afforded.
