This textbook is sizzling my brain cells,
You keep distracting me
The teachers voice drones and drones
Stop doing that, please
Biting your nails, gazing at me,
Once in a while.
I can't help but stare back
There's no words in your stare,
But there is in mine.
You're clicking your pen
The noise drives me crazy
Over all the hubbub in the class, I hear it.
Click, click, click
You catch me staring
Staring competition; I'm going to win
Ah! You looked away. I won.
A girl sits next to you, I tense up
When you speak to her.
Maybe I'm jealous
Maybe
Maybeeee I like you.
Again, your eyes.
Stop it, my heart is racing
I know you don't like me
But I like to pretend you might do
And that your eyes are trying to tell me something.
"Maria? Maria Lima! Were you listening?"
"Oh.. sorry miss. I ermm got distracted."
"... what is the assignment again?"
Author notes
Oh school girl crushes. Aren't they just lovely?
Enjoy!

You labelled this as "personal", so guess this is about yourself? But I think it's sweet... kind of, I hope you don't take that as an insult or anything...
This makes me wonder if I am kind of weird, I have never had a crush on anyone...
But it'd be hard to find an interesting boy in my class, 'cause there are only three of them!
Thanks for sharing this poem, I enjoyed reading!
Keep on writing!
