The Immortal: Vampire (Story)- Chapter 1

"Arian?"

I look up. It's the two shape-shifters. They're only children, little more than teenagers in human years. They are twins from Japan, bought by Rhyn two years ago. The girl is around five and a half feet tall and perhaps a hundred and fifteen pounds. The boy is about five feet seven inches and a hundred and forty pounds.

Both have long, onyx hair with a slight curl at the ends. But their eyes are strangely different. The girl's are a bright, clear green. Her brother's are gold. Their skin is that lovely caramel color and absolutely flawless. They are truly beautiful creatures.

"Yes, my species confused companions?" I tease them.

"Do...you think we'll ever get to go home again?" the boy asks.

"Ah...I can't say, my children. Perhaps you will, but I cannot say yes or no. But don't lose your hope."

The girl plops down between my feet and I ruffle her hair affectionately. She's always been the one to curl up at my side, even when Rhyn first brought them here. It used to startle me, as most of the time our species are sworn enemies, but I've gotten used to it and realize that, perhaps, I've become like an older brother or perhaps even a father figure to her.

"You're not like other vampires..." the boy says at last.

"Oh? How so?" I inquire.

"Well, you're not mean and you don't act like you're better than everyone else. Plus, Mae took to you right away."

Mae, the girl, nods vigorously. Unlike her brother, she can't speak English, yet she understands it.

"Well, Nataku, I don't like other vampires. Plus, Rhyn isn't so terrible to his...charges. Other stable owners are cruel by choice, Rhyn isn't." I reply.

He nods. I've always known Nataku was an easy going child, even though he sometimes gets easily flustered. He's a good boy.

A loud crash echos further down the corridor. All three of us look up alertly. It's not yet nightfall and no one should be sneaking around between the stables.

A few seconds later Rhyn and my young werewolf companion sweep into the room. Obviously they've been talking or they'd not have been awake so far into the day.

"What's going on?" I ask quietly, making the 'wolf jump and growl slightly.

The lights arn't on, so they can't see the three of us in this shadowy corner.

"Who's there!?" Rhyn demands.

"Relax, Rhyn. It's just Arian, Mae and myself." Nataku replies with a chuckle.

"Oh...I thought someone had snuck in here."

"Nope."

"I'm going to flip the lights on, ok? I can't see."

"Shield your eyes, Arian." the 'wolf advises.

I do so. The light is brighter in my eyes than any of theirs. It stings for a few moments then fades.

Rhyn is a very old vampire though he only looks thirty. He's around five feet and three inches, but he has immense muscles for his size, putting him at about 185 pounds. Born in Egypt many centuries ago, his once dark skin is almost as white as mine is now, though I was born with a fair complexion anyways. His black hair is short, but still a bit long. And his eyes, like all Egyptians, are dark, nearly black. As usual, he's wearing a heavy amount of eyeliner, but the eyeliner isn't strange to look at, for it seems as if it makes his eyes more alive and his face less startling.

"Good Lord, Arian....you look dreadful." he says, looking at me intently.

"I havn't fed for a couple nights." I reply with a shrug.

"Not good, my friend." he chides gently

"I will feed tonight, before the fights."

"Please do that. And, if you would, take Miss Katrina along with you. She needs to run."

"As you wish."

Katrina, my young werewolf companion, smiles shyly at me. I've always told her she should have been a vampire with the gracefulness of her every move. I've never seen another werewolf with such serpentine grace. Her beauty also sets her apart from other 'wolves.

Her long blond hair is like the sun I remember from so many centuries ago and has a bit of a wave in it. Her eyes are like sapphires, deep, dark and blue. Her skin is pale but one can clearly see the Germanic features in the bone structure. She is child-like in her acted innocence, but her body is clearly woman, as she curves to the point of being painfully beautiful. If only she were a vampire...

The only thing betraying her as a 'wolf is her five foot four inch sinewy body. Wolves are shorter than average monsters, but definitely more like wrecking balls. But, luckily for her, she's too beautiful for a male of her species to try to harm her too badly. They only try harming the old, frail, ugly or lower standing females. Thank the Gods for small miracles.

"Why do the leech and the fur-ball get special treatment?" another female voice calls.

I lift my lip, bearing my long fangs. "Watch it, broom-jockey." I growl, warningly.

"You filthy-"

Katrina snarls savagely and hits the witch. Normally I oppose fighting in our own stable, but the witch shouldn't have insulted Katrina and myself. Especially not Katrina.

She stands and spits out a small bit of blood.

"Enough, Deidra. Don't start fights you're outnumbered on." Rhyn orders calmly.

"I just don't see what's so special about them is all. One's dead, the other's a dog. Big deal." Deidra fires back.

"You forget your place, witch."

"You'd best not forget you're bleeding and there's a very hungry vampire in the room." Nataku growls, standing protectively over his sister but well away from me if I decide pounce on the witch.

"He couldn't hurt a fly, let alone someone like me." Deidra taunts.

Before anyone sees the move, I'm behind her, towering over her five foot two inch, one hundred and forty pound frame. If I didn't know her curly red hair was always frizzy, I'd say it were "standing on end". She's most definitely of Irish descent with those ruddy cheeks and that quick temper.

I bed down slightly and whisper in her ear "You're dead, child."

She turns quickly, a shocked expression entering her muddy green eyes. The shock quickly tunrs to fury, yet she simply sniffs and walks away.

I've humiliated her, not she'll not fight with me for a while. That's a good thing...especially when I'm thirsting as I am tonight.

"Arian...I think it's dark enough for you to hunt now. Katrina, go with him and run a little. Be back in an hour, please." Rhyn says, breaking the awkward silence.

I nod and silently take Katrina's hand, leading her out into the city streets that are covered in darkness.

"Arian...can I come too?"

I stop and turn, looking into the dark alley to the left and seeing the demon. He, like Mae and Nataku, is only a child, yet he's older but looks younger than the shape-shifters. His hair and eyes are both black, contrasting sharply with his pale skin. He looks twelve and is only five foot three and a hundred and twenty. It's hard to think that he is, in reality, one thousand years old.

"Alright, Chris. You can come. But don't get near me when I find breakfast...I don't want to hurt you." I reply, smiling softly.

"Thank you!" he says, taking Katrina's other hand as she holds it out to him.

His true name isn't Chris, but his true one is too hard for anyone to pronounce so Chris is his name to us. For a demon, he is surprisingly friendly too.

With that, we go out into the dimply lit street.

Sound good? If you have a title idea, lay it on me

**claps softly** Lovely beginning, my dear. I hope you get fed. Katrina sound wonderful. Can't wait for the next one. I like Deidra. I want to kill her. You should put me in here, too.
