Floating side to side
as once again
time has spoken.
Resting,
on earth,
wings of cover
against cooler days,
while in sleep
leaves protect
from winter's
fingers.
Whipped and beaten
from cooler breeze
to flutter and land
on rooftops, lost.
Evening shadows
creeping closer
winter's messenger
on whispering breath.
Branching arms
embracing chill,
freeing spring's growth
for ground to warm.

these beautiful leaves are so wonderful
that they alone can paint their own picture
I like this poem
Riftkin -
Her shadows dress my clammy grassland
in sighing sky of grey to gather
matter moving south in feather
when summer flew befor the snow flight
lovely...
