I can't sleep
I'm awake all the time.
So many thoughts
Racing in my mind.
I can't get words out
They clutter in my head.
Oh how I wish
I could go to bed.
I miss the silence
That sleep can bring
To put my mind at rest
And not think about a thing.
I'm so very tired
Weary and worn out
I wish, oh I wish,
These thoughts
Weren't floating about.
I just want to lie down
And have my mind grow still
To be rid of it all,
The anxieties to kill.

well worded, set out cleanly, not too many flowery words either..
says it all... and keeps the subject matter real and tangible..
i like this one alot.. the poem that is, not the fact that you can't sleep
