Up I arose from my dark cell
My captor leaving open a door
And in the distance rang a bell
It's toll signaled the fifth hour
Eight hours I have left to roam
Eight to reclaim my life and love
Up and up I climbed reaching loam
Green grass and a new maze to solve
Alone I was left with my thoughts
Silent was my mouth
No song of one who fought
I turned my head to the South
Engaged in a rush to the end
I must be the one to win the day
A thought my mind did send
Why must I win the day?
What did this place offer?
Compared to my own
Who would I care for?
For I had none in my home
Shake the thoughts away
Wheel the mare of my mind around
"Perish oh unbidden thought!" I say
The bushes whirled around at my sound
Unnoticing I forge foreword
Upward and onward I march
From all I shall hear no word
As I walk beneath the crumbling arch
Author notes
Part six of my labyrinth poem series. I'm sorry I haven't written anything in so long.
I do not own the Labyrinth. Lucasfilms and Henson does.
