What I Would Give

a saddened heart, a darkened mind
searching for answers i'll never find
what is true love, i already know
the reason for the pain that shows
what i would give to feel the touch
of an honest man that loved me so much
to know that feeling of safe i'm dieing to have
to lessen the pain and forget the bad
to bring a smile upon my face
and catch me when i'm falling from grace
to wipe the tears from these emerald eyes
to hold me when i break down and cry
what i would give to know the love
of a man that never says "i'm done"
to have someone waiting for me each night
to have comforting arms to hold me tight
to have somebody tell me it's going to be ok
when i've been let down by sunset of each day
what i would give to feel complete
to have a man sweep me off my feet
to want to take me as his wife
and go with me through the journey of life.
