The Battle

Voices screaming
cold, harsh words
into my head,
driving me to the
borderline between
sanity and lunacy.

Unable to escape
from this constant
torment, the sounds of
rage and conflict
follow me
no matter where I run.

Like a rag doll
being tugged on by
two quarreling children,
I am caught in the middle
of these two
ravaging sides, worn until
I rip at the seams.

Longing for the
calm serenity of silence -
a haven of peace
as the battle rages on,
and settling into
a more tranquil place.

I like this one really well also! I like how it's called 'The Battle' and its a mental struggle. I can relate to it a lot. Mental battles are terrible cause like you said...

    'rage and conflict
    follow me
    no matter where I run.'

    Grats on another good one!
