She saw him leave his stuff on the table, as she hid behind the bookshelf. She quickly walked over to the table stuck the folded stationary in between his books where it would catch his eye, and went back to the bookshelves pretending to look for a book. She bit her lip as the same questions ran through her mind “Should I have done that...Will he know it’s me?”
When he returned to his seat the light pink stationary caught his attention. He opened it up and read.
Dear Tommy.
I am someone you see everyday but never really notice. You glance my way, and say a simple “Hey” but the conversations I wish to have with you only happen in my dreams…day and night. I want you to know what feeling I hold for you, but I am afraid of what your feelings are for me…so that is why I shall not tell you who I am…at least not any time soon.
I must go now…
But I will see you in my dreams…

Someone you see everyday…
As he finished reading, he wondered who the someone could be. He thought of all the girls he knew, but he couldn’t put his finger on which one. He heard someone shuffling. He turned around and saw Julia looking at the books in the bookshelves behind him. She was always at the library, looking at one book, reading another. She was the quiet type.
He wondered if maybe Julia put the note in his book. At first he thought against asking her, but then decided it wasn’t a big deal. He walked over to her, but as he stood next to her, he noticed another side of her. Julia was so caught up in the book in her hands; she didn’t realize he was standing there.
“Julia…” She jumped at the sound of her name, smiled and blushed “Oh sorry, I was so glued to the book…um…what did you need?”
“Well I was wondering if you might have seen someone sneaking around my stuff? I just found an interesting note in my History book.”
“No, I’m not a watch guard for your stuff.” she said smiling
“Was it you?” he asked
“Well, what would that change?”
“It would change because I could be interested in you and you wouldn’t even know it.”
“Who said I wrote it?”
“Ok, so now we’re playing this game…”
What game?”
“Can you do me a favor?”
“Depends on what it is…”
“Ok, come over here for a minute.”
He took her to where his stuff was, ripped out a piece of paper from his journal, and got out a pen. He said “Can you please sign right here?”
“Why?” she asked
“Because, I want to see something.”
“Okay.”
Julia signed her name and he took it. “Thank you, you are free to go.” He had a smirk on his face. She felt her knees go weak, and the butterflies in her stomach fluttered even harder. Her mind was sending signals “WARNING! BODY IN MELT DOWN MODE! CAUTION! WEAK KNEES! CAUTION! WEAK KNEES! WARNING! BODY IN MELTDOWN MODE!”
Although Julia was confused about why he wanted her to sign her name. But the weakest in her, her weak knees knew. When she was halfway to the door, her body was back to neutral. There it finally hit her; he wanted to match her signature with the signature on the note. She blushed and stopped right in the middle of the library. She didn’t know whether to turn around or just keep going and confront him later.
Julia walked on, not daring to turn her head. He sat back down and took the note out of his pocket and set it next to the paper where Julia had written her signature. They were almost identical. “Someone, huh.” He chuckled quietly. Then the thoughts and question attacked “Do I like her…like that?” “She seems so quiet and shy…I don’t know if I…but she is pretty…” He rubbed his hands over his eyes, and moaned quietly.
He would try and talk to her. See what she was truly like. Who knows? Maybe they could go somewhere. He thought of it as a little challenge, because she was tough. He had to give her that. He waited till the end of class and decided to go to her locker. And surprise her.
As the bell rang, Julia collected her books and ran out of class. All she could think about was that he would realize it was she who wrote the note. What if he didn’t like her like that and the entire school found out? “Oh God!” she mumbled to herself “Pull yourself together girl. It doesn’t matter what he thinks or feels for you. And he probably isn’t so heartless that he would tell his buddies about it. Or is he? Uhh!!! Whatever, just go to your locker and then straight to class!”
When Julia got to her locker, she couldn’t open it. She let out an exasperated sigh. Then out of nowhere, she heard a familiar voice right behind her say, “Do you need help opening that?” She turned around, but didn’t have the confidence to raise her gaze to him. “Yes, that would be nice of you.”
She moved out of the way and whispered the locker combination. “34-15-9”
“What? Speak up just a little bit.” He said
“34-15-9”
“Ok, here we go, one time around, hit 15 then finally 9…Voila!”
“Thank you.” She said.
He stood there for a moment, watching her put her books in her locker and take out some more. He felt as if he were in a trance, finally seeing that he really did like her.
Julia waited for him to leave, but he didn’t seem to budge from the spot where he was standing. “Well, are you just going to stand there, and make us both late for class, or are you going to move?” she said, trying to sound preppy.
He raised an eyebrow, and smiled. “Would you mind if I did the honors of walking you to your next class?”
She blushed and just nodded her head.
As they walked he said, “I know who wrote me that note. And I realized that I feel really strongly towards her to.” Julia looked up at him, and said, “Do you really?”
“Yes…I just hadn’t seen her in that view before.”
“You really feel like that towards me?” She couldn’t stop from saying that last word, and blushed bright crimson.
“Who said I was talking about you?” he smirked.
She looked at him and gave him a playful punch.
They were right next to her classroom door, and he said “Julia, I’m glad that you gave me that note. And I like you just as much.” He gave her a sweet kiss; left her standing there. But turned once more to wave goodbye. “WARNING! BODY IN MALFUNCTION MODE! CAUTION! WEAK KNEES!” She managed to raise her hand, wave goodbye, and ran inside, before her knees really gave out.
Everything that had happened kept on repeating in her head, and she was glowing. When her friend Evie came, she asked “What are you so happy about?” Julie told her friend all about the incident and she was left just as speechless. The teacher came into the classroom and started the lesson.
Instead of paying attention, Julia daydreamed about what would happen after this
“Happily Ever After”
