Sitting on the bench in this technicolored youth
& laughing inside at the imperfections breaking--
lightning strikes, fading my smile
[even though it so graciously smiles at me]

an over-thinking wonderer of the stars
& babydoll,
my words paint a battle scene within my fragile body
& history seems to scab over & dance through my eyes
[whenever you're not around]
I comfort myself with my thoughts of you-
[intergalactic inside a dancing galaxy quest
& j u m p i n g into the brilliant Milky Way]
[you shine for me like no other,
illuminating the edges of each notebook page
that your name occupies]
your. name. goes. here. inside. my. heart.
[even if you decide to walk the world without me,
I will watch you pack your bags, walk out of my door
but I'll wave goodbye, watching you shine bright]
