Forsaken Euphoria

"How much more can I take?
Memories playing endless in rewind.
Heart jaded and insecure;
broken and destroyed - lay in ruin.

I miss you

Tears form in withered eyes
and trail down barren cheeks
staining them in clear masquera
and rolling gently onto a ripped soul.

I can't do it anymore...

Too much on my shoulders
a heart broken and wary -
soul divided and stitched upon cracked seems
never to be whole again.

What did I do?"

Ashes of memories linger in my mind,
as emotions pull every ill heartstring
and my life spins 'round like a slot machine
ending on failure through their eyes.

"Never good enough."

Tarnished and tattered, this angel falls
bleeding liquid mercury as lithium runs from her lips -
worn by arsenic and devoured by cyanide
she sings of a whiskey lullaby.

Tall tales of a demented past
and a future looking bleak
she sings a bittersweet melody
that sinks into you like a morphine sonata

Fallen from grace and into abyss,
fused from sunburst twilights -
minions of disgust roam the labrynth
that has become her mind

Zigzagging through the honeycombed maze -
she travels aimlessly; wandering in need
of something or someone to understand
and guide her from her prison

Blanketed by the midnight mass around her;
she searches the bogs in need of redemption -
a light shines amongst the dark
and she clings to the beacon of hope

Blinded by the glitter angst and torn in anguish
the fallen angel searches the maze -
hitting wall after wall of her own tortured past
and becomes lost in illuminated delusions.

Admist the game her mind now plays
a phantom silhouette mimicks her sorrow
and dances with her rage
like a morbid succubus of demented lust.

She becomes a mannequin in this devious game
and is played by the ghost of her tortured past -
as sapphire rays dart across dark omnious skies
it's here in this hell that she is home

"What can you do when it becomes too much?
When the razors call to you?
When sweet crimson from a simple gash is your only friend?
When suicidal tendencies are all you have left?

Can you tell me....[make me believe]

Where would you go when it all falls apart?
Where would you turn when youv'e exhausted every possibility?
Where would you hide from your problems?
Where would it all disappear?

Show me

and I'll show you

a forsaken Euphoria..."

Author notes

Wrote this in a fit of anger and depression last night.

Enjoy.

This... is beautiful, and sad. You show your emotion very well through the words you have spoken. I'm slightly stunned. As I said, this is beautifully written. It catches one's interest and doesn't let go until the end. I don't know what else to say. Some poems have weaker points, or some over others, but I honestly can't find one part that I like better than another. I did notice something and have to wonder, however.
    The line:
"Fallen from grace and into abyss,
    fused from sunburst twilights"

Was that inspired by Emelia's poem "Sunburst Twilight"?

Either way, I loved this poem, and Emelia's previously mentioned poem, in different ways. Awesomely written.
    Well done.
